Courses currently offered through Sigma's Nurse Empowerment Program
INDIANAPOLIS —The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) today announced that its LinkedIn Learning pilot, developed in partnership with the Johnson & Johnson Foundation, was featured in the LinkedIn Learning 2021 Workplace Learning Report. The pilot, designed to deliver personal leadership and resilience training to early career bedside nurses, was featured as an example in Making the case for creativity.
This is the first time Sigma has been featured in the annual report, which for 2021 focused on Skill Building in the New World of Work. The report noted that even though the Sigma/Johnson & Johnson pilot was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, 80 percent of registrants completed the course, and 100 percent of those nurses surveyed noted that the program was worth their time. Sigma’s inclusion in the report positioned the organization among other leading companies and organizations, including Allianz Technology, Infineon, MediaKind, and Nationwide Insurance.
“I am unbelievably proud to see Sigma referenced in the Workplace Learning report. This recognition supports our efforts to deliver meaningful, relevant content through multiple platforms, and it validates our mission of developing nurse leaders anywhere to improve healthcare everywhere,” said Sigma President Richard Ricciardi, PhD, CRNP, FAANP, FAAN. “I’m thrilled that thousands of early career frontline nurses—whether Sigma members or not—can access these same courses through the new Nurse Empowerment Program.”
Sigma CEO Elizabeth Madigan, PhD, RN, FAAN, said, “Our Sigma authors and contributors have been developing and delivering great educational content for years. Thanks to our partnership with the Johnson & Johnson Foundation, we can reach many more nurses through LinkedIn Learning. Sigma’s inclusion in the Workplace Learning Report showcases the value of these courses and the impact they can have on early career nurses.”
