Nursing Students and Their Professional Identity in Nursing Formation: How Can We Foster It?

Professional Identity in Nursing is “a sense of oneself, and in relationship with others, that is influenced by characteristics, norms, and values of the nursing discipline, resulting in an individual thinking, acting, and feeling like a nurse.” This session explores the critical need to form a professional identity in nursing. Evidence is presented on how nurse educators can foster professional identity in nursing students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
