“Four in five persons with diabetes experience diabetes-related stigma. The recent International Consensus on Ending Diabetes Stigma highlights the lack of research examining the mechanisms linking diabetes stigma and health outcomes (including glycemic control) and the paucity of diabetes stigma research in low- and middle-income countries. The proposed study bridges nursing science, endocrinology, psychology, and public health, contributing to a more integrated understanding of chronic disease management.”

“Receiving an Edith Anderson Membership Subsidy has allowed me to join Sigma, and I could not be more grateful for this opportunity. I’m in my last semester of nursing school so being able to have this opportunity has allowed me to see further into the nursing field. I look forward to the opportunities presented in the future through being a part of this outstanding organization!”

“By integrating the Commission on the Status of Women agenda, the nursing and healthcare sectors can advocate for and implement policies that ensure women’s access to quality health services, promote women’s leadership within healthcare settings, and address the social determinants of health that disproportionately affect women.”
